I first entered the field of psychology over thirty years ago as I started my career working in secondary schools as a school counselor. My approach then and continues to be today is to meet the client where they are through a client centered approach, coupled with elements of psychodynamic theory, Cognitive Behavioral Theory and a mindset orientation.  Understanding that one of the hardest parts to therapy is getting through the door, I recognize the importance of establishing rapport and thus attempt to make our therapeutic space as comforting and welcoming as I can. My style is conversationalist, and a typical session will include humor, antidotes and the flow of sharing with therapeutic guidance.

After a 25 year career as a full time school counselor, I left the field of education and built my first clinical practice in counseling psychology. My practice focuses on working with young adults, adults, and couples in areas of life challenges, relationships, anxiety, depression and grief etc. As a former athlete, I also formed a niche working with athletes in sports related performance issues. Recognizing a need, I built a second practice in sports psychology called Newtown Sport. Having the two practices working in conjunction with one another has proven to be a perfect compliment.

As for outside of my professional life… I am a life long athlete. I have completed 7 marathons in my career as a runner. I enjoy yoga and golf. I was a long time coach of many sports (lacrosse, basketball, soccer, wrestling) and a parent of three athletes all of whom played their respective sports into their college years. I love music and play guitar and can be found often on the beach, on a trail or building something.
